Where are the U.S. Iraqi veterans protesting George W. Bush's decision to invade Iraq?
I was so frustrated with the Democratic capitulation to George W. Bush over the continued funding of this unjust Iraqi occupation that it dawned on me why is it we haven't heard much (at least not from the mainstream press) about Iraqi veterans actively protesting George W. Bush's decision to invade Iraq? This occupation has now caused, what, more than 25 thousand maimed soldiers? Wouldn't some of these veterans be angry about the lies spread by George W. Bush and his reasons for invading Iraq? Wouldn't it cause some of these veterans to protest in front of the White House?
By 1970, you had Vietnam Veterans Against the War and John Kerry was one of them. But I've been troubled by the lack of an organized movement on the part of the thousands of Iraqi veterans to come out and protest George W. Bush's policy on Iraq. I know one can't make a direct comparison to Vietnam and with so many tours extended for the thousands of GIs serving it does pose a somewhat different situation. I merely was reflecting upon those who have opposed this invasion and I wondered if those maimed and injured Iraqi veterans were in unison on protesting Bush's continued occupation of Iraq.
