So, I got the email from True Majority.org about signing the petition about global warming today. At the bottom, they always let you leave a note for your Congressperson. Well, I went off. Now, I've done this previously, where I sent a forceful letter to my Congresswoman, Judy Biggert (IL-13), and she responded with some poorly crafted talking points. This won't surprise you, but she essentially told me that Republicans can't be held accountable.
So, I'm at it again. The letter quickly strayed from global warming issues, and onto how corrupt she is.
Anyway, I'll admit it's been a bad week in my personal life, but if this stirs me into action, so be it. Letter follows below.
Well, Ms. Biggert, you have consistently voted against the wishes of your own constituents so you could line your pockets with Tom DeLay's money for your PAC. You remember Tom DeLay. He was indicted on the same day I received your letter where you wrote and told me he was "a great man". Tom Delay was also the man who called for a fatwa on "activist" judges. And when Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow's family was murdered shortly thereafter, you explained it away in a letter you wrote to me claiming that you supported DeLay and the murder because "Since Tom DeLay was elected by his constituents, the residents of Illinois had no right to question him."--for supporting the murder of a United States district court judge!
You continue to support this disasterous and counterproductive war that has actually produced more terrorists, thus continuing the Republicans' plan of winning elections through fear.
I don't expect a letter from you. The last time it took you nine months to respond to me in one of the most stupefyingly anti-American letters that must have ever come from the pen of a U.S. Congressperson. Let's face it, you're a nut. You don't deserve to be sitting in that chair. You bought your way in, and fooled people with your grandmotherly press-kit headshot using Tom DeLay's bribe money.
You think you'll get away with it. You have so far. But you won't be able to steal from the people forever.
