It keeps coming up, that sweet, sweet idea: kick the Bastards out. And we get our hopes up, and then... nothing. And we've all been burned before. All thought so many times that things are changing, that they'll get better, and yet here we are, into the 7th staggeringly horrible year of the Bush/Cheney presidency, and I don't mind admitting, I'm tired.
I'm really tired.
It's hard to hope. It's hard to watch. It's hard to speak out and write another letter, sign another petition. It's hard to believe.
So I just want to know what people here think. Not what you believe is the right thing to do, but what you think will actually happen.
Give me your best guess.
Will we find the balls to do it or won't we?
And what issue do you think will do it?
Ignoring the subpoenas that were just issued on the US attorney firings?
Gitmo & torture?
Iraq?
And I have to say, if the Democrats in office right now don't have the balls to stand up and do the right thing -- which has to be begin impeachment hearings, they don't deserve to be in office.
I don't care about what's right politically. We let ourselves be governed too damned much by what's supposedly right or wrong politically.
Sometimes things are just right or wrong, and if you can't stand up for what's right and fight for it, forget you.
I won't be doing a damned thing to help you. I will be harassing you or helping elect someone else who will do the right thing.
This is too important.
We have a president and vice president who believe they are above the law. They have acted as if they are above the law, and they have gotten away with it.
If Democrats can't get themselves all worked up about that, then I'm done with them. They don't deserve our support.
