Where is the fairness? Where is the justice? How can time and time again we fail our men and women in uniform?
Today on Capitol Hill, the Webb-Hagel Amendment failed. This amendment, offered by a Republican Veteran and a Democratic Veteran who now serve their country in the United States Senate was critical to our men and women in uniform and to their families and to everyone who believes in this country.
Let me tell you something straight out.
Senators who voted against this amendment voted against our men and women in uniform - plain and simple. They voted against giving our men and women the care and help they so desperately need when they come home from war. They voted against fair deployment practices - you serve for fifteen months, you get to stay home for fifteen months.
I am absolutely furious that yet again, some people talk the talk about supporting our troops but when push comes to shove, when the rubber meets the road,
they vote NO. (link to Washington Post)
