I've been looking for some way to speak out. Some way to let my frustration known to the world. I've been looking for a good protest here in Orlando, FL.
I know Code Pink is active in Orlando, and though I haven't gotten involved with them, I respect their cause. However, as much as I'm outraged about the war; I'm outraged about the incompetence, negligence, and outright maliciousness with which this administration has been running rough-shod over the constitution.
Finally, I've had Enough.
Wesly Clark Jr.'s post here at Kos, 'Had Enough?', is to me a call to arms. A call for action.

It struck me that one of the criticisms of Bu$h is that he hasn't asked anyone except our soldiers in uniform to sacrifice anything for this war. Well, neither has the opposition to the war. Only the families with loved ones putting their lives on the line, really have a stake in this war. And I don't know of anyone else calling for people to be in the street over the criminality of the current administration.
Well here in Orlando I am.
I've had enough!
I'm not just asking you. I'm challenging you. I'm calling you out. Get off the couch. Get away from the computer. Stop sending emails that get sent to the trash can as fast as your Rep. can hit the delete key. To stop signing electronic petitions that nobody seems to pay attention to anyway. It's time to get out in the streets. Not quite time for pitchforks and torches but almost... almost.
Don't make any excuses. I have things to do too. Calling for a protest, is about the last thing I want to do. But it's like anything else. It's all about priorities. If you make it a priority, you'll find the time for it. Is the war in Iraq and Afghanistan a priority? Is bringing home your family member, neighbor, or friend serving in Iraq or Afghanistan a priority? Is our Constitution, our rule of law, our governmental process a priority? Is The American Way a priority?
Come stand with me. Just for an hour. Thats it. One hour on Sunday. Out in front of City Hall (400 S. Orange Ave.) from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Bring a sign, it can say anything you'd like. Just bring yourself. I expect it to just be me standing there with a sign and a cause. But prove me wrong Orlando, I'd love some company.
