Hey, d'jever notice, those special times when the speechifier makes a "Bushism" that has a "freudian slip" flavor?
"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda"
Georgie does it regularly, deep thinking, hard working, deciding commander guy that he is. And it might be amusing if the stakes weren't so high. [flip/more]
I like to imagine the next morning, when Cheney and Rove consult with the Chief: rolling their eyes and saying, "What were you thinking?!?"
Hey, it's hard work,right?
Anyway, here is a fresh and particularly egregious example:
Michael, I -- first of all, the Scooter Libby decision was, I thought, a fair and balanced decision.
So the Decider's first public comment on his decision to commute Scooter Libby's prison time to zero, zilch, nada, is to describe it as "fair and balanced?"
Sigmund, lie still! and quit spinning!
For some time, I have been meaning to write about how Fox News tries to frame themselves as being "Fair and Balanced," generally by beating viewers over the head with their motto of choice.
In a nutshell, the fact that Fox feels the need to trumpet their brand of news as being "Fair and Balanced" TM really just serves to illegitimize their product.
I mean, does not your bullshit detector start clanging when you hear the words, "Fox News, Fair and Balanced?" Gah.
So I find it quite ironic that King Doofus used "Fair and Balanced" to describe his wise commutation decision.
But that's not why I write today.
The Scooter Libby commutation decision outraged me to the point where I was done with complaining to my Senators and representatives. Time to call the White House.

I called again this morning. Took two minutes. The lady was nice, and seemed interested in what I had to say, indeed, she even seemed to agree with me!
The people manning these lines are volunteers and they do sometimes have a tough job. So if you do choose to call and express your outrage, by all means, do so cheerfully!
That's all I have. Carry On.
