...luckily, David Vitter was wearing his diaper.

Sunday Talk Ratings for Last Week's Shows
Hotline 7/19: "For the week of 7/15, "Meet the Press" won with a 2.1 rating/7 share and 2.693M viewers. ABC's "This Week" was second with a 1.8/6 and 2.330M viewers. CBS' "Face the Nation" followed with a 1.7/5 and 2.326M viewers. And "Fox News Sunday" came in with a 0.8/3 and 1.066M viewers" Last week's guests here. Given last week's MTP performance, Jim Webb, will be invited back... a lot. His combativeness makes for good TV. And good TV helps keep MTP's "If it's Sunday, it's Meet the Press" reputation alive.
Is it me, or...
Politicians from both major political parties cheat on their spouses, but is it me, or do the Republicans seem to have to pay for sex more?
You've got Duke Cunningham, David Vitter, Randall Tobias, Jack Burkman, Bob Allen (the $20 blowjob guy), etc. There's probably a joke waiting to be told on late night. "Politicians from both parties have affairs, but give the Democrats this. Their guys don't have to pay for sex!" Ba-da-bum!
Bob Kerrey and Kanye West
When Kanye West was in diapers, Bob Kerrey was saying this: "I became a Democrat in 1978 because I did not believe the Republican party gives a damn about the American people."
The Not David Broder
He has his Broderish moments, but amongst columnists who aren't overtly progressive or conservative, Ron Brownstein's one of the better reads
Shook 'Em Alllll Night Long
Sen Mary Landrieu (D-LA) is one of the more frustrating Dem Senators for many bloggers, but she definitely does have her moments. C&L has the vid.
Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA):

Iraq Filibuster Rally & Vigil
Sen. George Voinovich is happy to take the money, but will he do anything to stop the war? Hotline WakeupCall 7/17:
Sen. George Voinovich (R-OH) "privately" admits the Bush admin "f-ed up" the war (CNN). Meanwhile, ex-Pres. Bush is going to Cleveland 8/8 to raise money for Voinovich (Cleveland Plain Dealer blog)

Specific calls like this from Durbin are more appreciated in my book than general "tell Congress to stand up to Bush" stuff. At the very least point out every once in awhile that it's the GOPers who are obstructing. (This means you, Bill R.)
I was in NY last weekend. I thought we were going up on Sunday but we went up on Satuday instead. I set up the diary Friday, and SusanG published it for me on Saturday night. Thanks SusanG! (That's why no tip jar and stuff last week. I didn't even check DKos until Monday so I didn't even have time to drop some recommends. Anyways, thanks to everyone who commented and contributed videos and graphics last week!)
Also, I'm in search of who read the CLASSIFIED version of the latest NIE. Help me, here.
More goodies in the comments!
