The Democratic leaders, who abandon their 08 paper trail mandate, don’t seem to understand the eminent nature of our voting problem. The Republicans need only one election, this one, to ensure long lasting control over our voting system. The Republicans have their backs against the wall. They must either fix the next election or be voted out of most of their power positions within two branches of our Government.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s attempt to address our voting problems in 2010 will fall short unless she provides some interim provisions to head off what may happen in November of 2008. She needs to address an already out of control problem. Or maybe she can pass a bill forbidding cheating at the next election. This is a complex issue, and if Feinstein cannot understand what it takes to put a stop to what could be our third fixed election, she needs to move aside and let someone who does understand do so.
Sometimes our leaders need help from their supporters. We have to tell them what our concerns are, and make sure we don’t send a message read our minds or be voted out in the next election. Everyone must do their part. Is intelligence the result of many minds or the result of one? There is a collective power the Democrats can fall back on and it starts with activism. We need to get involved and not let the worse happen.
