Importantly, it passed 83-14, which means it's a vetoproof majority--so, assuming Bush vetoes it for some reason that makes sense only to him, it can make it through a second time. (It'd be wonderful if someone tried to filibuster that vote. . . .).
Even better news on the flip.
The Ethics Bill--Senate Bill #1--passed 83 to 14.
The good news: every Democrat voted for it.
The better news: Thirteen republicans voted against:
Kyl (AZ)
McCain (AZ)
Craig (ID)
Crapo (ID)
Cochran (MS)
Lott (MS)
Ensign (NV)
Burr (NC)
Coburn (OK)
Inhofe (OK--well, duh)
DeMint (SC)
Graham (SC)
Cornyn (TX)
Bennett (VT)
I mistakenly had Ted Stevens listed as voting against. Not 100% certain how I made that error--well, maybe it's because he appears to be guilty of embezzlement.
Also, I'll keep in mind the suggestions made on the poll for my next one. :)
