On Monday's edition of The O'Reilly Factor, substitute host/frustrated cheerleader Michelle Malkin mentioned that Bill O'Reilly was going to air an interview with David Aguina, the Reserves Sergeant that made such a splash at the YearlyKos convention.
Hey... what happened to that??
It wasn't on Tuesday. It wasn't on Wednesday. It wasn't on Thursday.
In fact, if you read the transcript of Malkin's interview from Monday, you'll find her mention of O'Reilly's interview mysteriously deleted.
There are two possibilities...
- Billy doesn't have the media stature to command the attention of the Sergeant.
- The interview happened, but the Sergeant making comments like...
He said that the conference-goers had treated him with respect and listened carefully to what he had to say, arguing strenuously against him but hearing him out nonetheless.
"There’s quite few people here who are open-minded and will listen. And even if they don’t agree with me, I at least thank them for listening. I’ve dealt with other people who insult me and then walk away."
didn't trash the convention like Billy craved.
And just like that, another blatant right-wing distortion slips down the memory hole because the rallying point of the slimefest proves to be fair-minded and honest.
Don't you hate it when that happens?
UPDATE: My mistake. The reference to the O'Reilly interview was not scrubbed from the Malkin transcript. But I could not find any evidence that the interview has aired to date. I will keep looking...
