In the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination, Hillary Clinton continues to lead with 40% of the vote from Likely Democratic Primary Voters. Barack Obama earns support from 18% while John Edwards also attracts 18% (see recent daily numbers). New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson tops the Democrats’ second tier at 5%. Dennis Kucinich is next at 3%.
This confirms the trend that I highlighted yesterday with John Edwards being within the MOE of Obama. The media narrative of a two way race is history. It seems that Edwards is finding some extra support as he had been getting well below 15% since the start of the daily tracking poll. Edwards has now been at 15% or above for 7 out of 8 days and has been at 17 or 18 for the last 3 days. This combined with Obama's continuing slide in poll numbers gives us this tie.
