Given how BushCo has trampled on the Constitution with nary a thought (while Democrats dithered), it might be said that our nation's founding document is "in exile" until sane leadership reclaims power.
Well, what if there was an actual organization dedicated to keeping the Constitution alive while we wait for the clock to run out on the current criminals?
I just registered the domain "ConstitutionInExile.us" and I'd happily contribute it to any group of Kossacks & others who wanted to seriously pursue something like this. See the flip…
What I have in mind is, if you will, a sort of "shadow government" that could do things like pass resolutions supportive of the Constitution--things like outlawing torture, affirming the prohibition on warrantless wiretaps, etc.
It could of course just be farting in the wind, but if a couple of prominent Washington types joined up (Feingold?) who knows? It might even be possible to recruit some old-style conservatives. The media might think it was worth a mention.
Does this resonate with anybody?
