I read a few diaries about a New York Times article which said how Bush is still unconcerned about his legacy. The article also said that he agreed to talk to an author named Robert Draper about his life as president. I apologize in advance if someone already covered this; if so, let me know and I'll take it down.
According to the article and a quick search of Simon and Schuster, this book will be released on Tuesday. See what its title is after the jump...
I laughed when I read the book's title: "Dead Certain." It's such a wannabe cowboy title, isn't it? As in, "I'm not just certain that Iraq has WMD's, I'm DEAD certain."
It's an example of the same "I know I'm right" attitude that Stephen Colbert lampooned (to Bush's face, no less!). The bitter irony is that it's literally true; a lot of death has followed our president's certainties. Some historians have even pronounced his legacy "Certainly dead."
Lame jokes aside, I think we should avoid this book, and persuade others to do the same. Wait until it ends up in the library. After all, it's just one person's views, and we don't even trust that person anyway.
