The Clinton spinroom is trying a new tact - Hillary Clinton as agent of change. Bill Clinton's stump now includes this:
"If you want to restore America's standing in the world overnight, elect Hillary president."
Does Hillary Clinton really believe that America's standing in the world can be restored overnight? Is her campaign so out of touch with the realities of the 21st century and the profound damage that our governement has done to our standing in the world? Or does she think that the damage is so minor, that a cosmetic change will suffice and all our problems will disappear overnight.
What will happen that first night? She won't speak to our enemies or even make an American foreign policy known until they declare their intentions and policies first. That is not leadership.
Obama demonstrates leadership in the world by clearly stating what his foreign policy is, by confidently extending his hand and strongly making our expectations and boundaries known. Obama recognizes that America can only rebuild our ruined reputation from the ground up and by acknowledging the mistakes we've made and earnest demonstrations of accountability and leadership.
Hillary wont take accountability for her vote, wont ever admit a mistake in judgement. The world has seen enough stubborn American leadership unwilling to listen and unwilling to learn. Hillary wont even share her plans with her electorate - is it any wonder that the world doesnt know what to expect from her? Is it any wonder why the world doesnt trust her? We dont trust her and we're liberals! If we are to promote stability, unpredictable and opportunistic wolrd views have no place in the United States' next administration. We've had enough of that failed vision and tactic - and so has the world.
