According to Reuters:
MEXICO CITY, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Mexican state-owned energy company Pemex said on Monday explosions caused by sabotage hit several of its natural gas pipelines on the Gulf of Mexico.
There is not a lot of news yet, and I will be updating this as more information comes in.
Additionally, CNN is reporting on a truck explosion that has killed 37 people and wounded over 100 so far. However, the truck explosion appears to be an accident and is unrelated. to the pipeline blasts.
UPDATE 9/10/07 8:45AM CST - Mexican News station TV Azteca is carrying this article about the pipeline blasts. I'm too lame to translate it, but it basically states what is available in the U.S. media that nobody was killed, and that the fires are under control now.
Additionally, there is speculation that a group called "Ejército Popular Revolucionario" (Popular Revolutionary Army) is responsible, as they blew up pipelines in Guanajuato and Querétaro in July. If they are responsible, they will likely take credit.
The ERP is a separate group from the famous EZLN, which has the famous balaclava-wearing Subcomandante Marcos as their leader.
