I just don't understand the trend behind "remembering 9/11". It just seems more like a cottage industry to me, a Hallmark holiday if you will. Americans are famous for falling for bullshit sentimentalism. That explains why we always mourn over worthless causes. I'm just sick and tired of the industry that has popped up regarding 9/11.
When people were making money off selling flags and bumper stickers, I was nauseous.
I must add that I'm annoyed by some of the people who feel that it's important to mention that tomorrow is 9/11.
My answer? Whoop-te-f*****-do! **please read comments before drawing conclusions, unless you're a right-wing media moron**
The events of September 11,2001 still stand out in my mind. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard of the attacks. I was working on a tiromat machine at Sunhill Foods when the news first came over the radio. My co-workers murmured, unsure of what was going on. By the end of that day, everyone was moved to complete silence.
Later that day, I bought a newspaper and couldn't believe what I was reading.
I remember attending a vigil for the deceased on September 13,2001. I was angry like any other American. I didn't understand that well what had happened at the time.
I remember Bush declaring war on the Taliban and going after Osama, which I thought was the right thing to do at the time (there was no "Loose Change" documentary back then).
However, since March 19, 2003, I have been utterly disgusted with what has gone on in Iraq.
Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. The feelings were very different. Whether you believe in 9/11 or not, you cannot deny the whole point of war with Afghanistan, which was to root out Osama Bin Laden and avenge the losses on 9/11.
I've never felt like such a damn fool though.
George Walker Bush completely destroyed what faith I had left in our political system.
Let history be witness to George W. Bush's failure to capture Osama Bin Laden.
You know why? Because Bush never wanted to capture Bin Laden. Look up the Carlyle group for proof of this.
So on the even of the 6th anniversary of 9/11, I have but one thing to say to George W.Bush: Are you done yet? Are you done with this pointless war-mongering? Or are you going to continue to tarnish everything this great country stands for? Are you going to follow Orwell and create a state very similar to what was portrayed in "1984"? Oh wait, it's too late for that. We're already there!
We even have the newspeak and the atmosphere of fear. What's next? Care to tell us, Georgie boy?
But by golly, Georgie Porgie, you'll go down in history as one of the worse tyrants our country has ever known and worst of all, you did it with the help of all of your friends, Dickie, Donny and Condi.
I'm sure you're patting each other on the back as you realize what kind of a monster you've created.
I will always fight against what I consider to be wrong. Iraq is very, very wrong. We have gone against the wishes of our forefathers for years now.
It's time to take back this country from tyrants like Bush and his corporate puppet-masters.
Time for the Democrats to finally grow some balls and do what they were elected to do: Put an end to the end of America as we know it.
Because if we all do not do our part, we will be responsible for not stemming the tide towards outright fascism!
