The true story, boils down to the petulant ‘legacy’ of an incompetent excuse for a ‘world leader’ (and his frothing circle-jerk of self-aggrandizing enablers) ...versus the true and genuine patriots of our (once) noble country. It is with great sadness and tragedy, that (George W. Bush) this most embarrassing ‘representative’ of American dignity, was allowed to be installed as America’s president, and effectively pampered, to ultimately execute the most shameful sham in this country’s history.
An article in a local newspaper, brought this (Presidential/Republican) ‘sham’ to its truest (glaring) transparency.
If you’re interested, please follow below the fold, for the explicit tearful enraging details...

For those who insist on believing their ‘lying eyes’, the article referenced above, is found in Oregon’s Mail Tribune, under the title, "Parents of soldier in Iraq support the troops, not the war" Sept 12, 2007.
You see, the parents of Captain [name redacted here, for respect] 25, with the Army's 3rd Infantry Division based [near Baghdad] for a 15 month ("surge") deployment, have got a ‘front-line’ skinny on the "war" ...something that the ‘armchair’ hawks sorely lack.
The Captain’s dad [name redacted here] says,
"I believe at this point the war is so politicized, so micromanaged out of the White House, that the generals who haven't complained and are still there are going to go along with whatever they are told to say," he said. "I don't think the American public is getting the real story."
The families, are no mere ‘greenbacks’ to the military service. The dad, a former Paratrooper, helped train Army special forces for the Vietnam War.
A brother served in the 101st Airborne Division. An uncle, who was wounded in action in World War II, retired as an Army general.
Mother [name redacted -bear with me. I'm going to give you the link] asked her son what he and his troops needed ...
"Because they were part of the surge, they only had three weeks to get properly working rifle scopes. Theirs didn't always work correctly."
His men also needed rifle cleaning kits, GPS units, desert socks, water purification tablets and other items.
"To outfit eight men cost $12,000," she said. "We raised all of that. And, mind you, it came from people who were against this war but supported the troops."
"No one supporting the war contributed to the local fundraiser", she said.
The money, in ‘support’ for the troops is only a small part of the equation. The soldier, who is in contact with them frequently from Iraq, shares how they are under daily war-fire. I don’t want to plagiarize an article (you can go read it) but, a ‘teaser’ snippet:
...when they go out on patrols they sometimes run into an IED placed between warring Shiite and Sunni factions. When the IED is detonated, both Iraqi factions often end up shooting at the Americans, he said.
"And when they go out on these missions to help the Iraqi Army by securing an area, the Iraqi soldiers are nowhere to be found," said the former paratrooper, shaking his head.
This (installed) president’s rhetoric about taking care of the troops, "for the good of America", is indeed suspicious ...as to whether he in fact, gives a crap about the troops, or America.
Go read the article about the flack they get from the war-supporter factions, when they participate in "Support our Troops –but Not the War" vigils. (And the accompanying ‘comments’ are enlightening too.) Note: These concerned parents' picture is there as well.
Indeed -
"When we're standing down there on the corner, don't flip us off," Mom said. "If you are going to flip us off, then get your a— over there to Iraq."
