Remember how 4,000 dead, tens of thousands of wounded, and half a trillion spent was "a small price to pay" for the mess we've made in Iraq? No?
Well, for House Republican Leader John Boehner, that's a wee nothing:
"The investment that we're making today will be a small price if we're able to stop al Qaeda here, if we're able to stabilize the Middle East, it's not only going to be a small price for the near future, but think about the future for our kids and their kids."
This is from a Republican Party that refuses to pay for the war (tax cuts) and expects other family's children to do the dying.
Fortunately for him, Boehner's a Republican. So there have been exactly three media hits of the ridiculous statement -- one from the Think Progress link I used above, one a John Kerry post on HuffPost demanding an apology, the last a blog post from a TV station in North Dakota.
But did you hear about the ad some group placed in some newspaper somewhere calling Petraeus a meanie? Stop the presses!
