Every day of September (almost) I'm making a contribution to a new candidate, announcing it here on Daily Kos, and encouraging you to join me. If one person matches my contribution on my ActBlue page, I'll double my contribution; if ten people match it, I'll triple. Details here.
Yesterday - yet again - jnhobbs and another contributor matched my contribution to John Hall, and my contribution to Linda Stender was also matched, so today Larry and Linda each get $20 more from me.
withthelidoff suggested today's candidate. Follow me below the fold to learn more about Larry Kissell.
Larry is a history teacher and a grassroots and netroots candidate who posts here on Daily Kos with some frequency, on topics ranging from women's rights, through trade, to employment and beyond. Ambassador Joe Wilson has endorsed Larry. He's got the support of the DCCC (not that that's always a good sign - but I think it's good in Larry's case - he's got establishment support to supplement the 'roots).
In 2006, with our help, Larry came within 330 votes of defeating the incumbent in this PVI R+3 district. His opponent outspent him 2 to 1. This time, with a few more of our dollars, a little earlier in the cycle - and with the lessons he learned last year, and with increasing Democratic momentum nationwide, I think he can win it. So I'm doing my part; Larry, here's $20. Let's see how much more we can bring you today.
Here's Larry's website.
