Can we get posters here to call their senators on the carpet?
YEA for the ones that refused to play the IOIYAR hypocrisy game. As much as I despised the way Coulter and the republicans ninnies at the their convention insulted and trashed Cleland and Kerry, they still had the right because even ignorance and rudeness is protected.
You cannot legislate respect. Isn't free speech a constitutional right? Do I not have the right to respect or disrespect anyone?
This bill should NOT have come to a vote...
More outrage to follow....
I don't care if MY senators disagreed with me or with MoveOn.orgs point of view when it came to the issue of Petreus. They have the right to view it however they want.
BUT they do not have the right to use taxpayer time and money to publicly condemn my point of view. They do not have the right to use public funds and the time they should be working for me to tell me who I should or should not respect and believe. If our representatives in the senate felt it was important to them to speak to the issue personally, they have the SAME rights as I do. They could pool their money, buy an add and say so. In fact because of who they are, they get more opportunities than I ever will to give their point of view on the news ON THEIR OWN TIME.
By doing this OFFICIALLY they are putting themselves and their personal views above the rest of us. They are saying that their point of view and their free speech is more important than ours and should be paid for by us.
WRONG!
Whatever their view, they had no right to elevate themselves.
I think they ALL need to be called to task. The YEAS for obvious reasons. The NAYS get a thank you for refusing to endorse this waste of time bill.........
