Sunday September 23rd's episode of "The Power of Ten" ended with a simple question. Drew Carey, a self confessed conservative and libertarian, asks his contestant a simple question. "What percentage of Americans think it is important for the United States to stay in Iraq and finish the job they started?" For those unfamiliar with the game's format, the contestant is supposed to guess, within 20 percentage points, the answer to a poll taken across America. Given the leanings of the Daily Kos readers, It's easy to imagine what this population might guess...but how closely would that guess come to the findings of this game show poll?
the answer after the jump.
here's the video:
So the question is... If 9 out of 10 Americans are against staying... WTF?
This video is an odd metaphor for the state of the union right now. A dizzy blonde out for cash who isn't well enough informed about the issues to make a good decision. It makes me wonder if our representative government isn't representing us a little too well.
It also seems to me that Drew Carey gets a little choked up when he reads the answer... perhaps ashamed of the very fact he is reading.
let me know what you think.
