We all remember how we got into this Iraqi mess, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney, Jeb Bush, Paul Wolfowitz and others created a "group" a Project for New American Century, it was "founded" by William Kristol andFred Kagan they closed their doors last year.
Here comes Freedoms Watch to pick up where they left off. They have deep pockets and are well funded. Ari Fleischer and Bradley Blakeman are the front men for the group, who's behind them is yet to be seen. The question is who is funding them?
Their web site proclaims they are the voice to fight back FOR the fight on terror and the will to see the Iraqi war thru to a win. They like the President do not explain what a win is.
They do have a new project, they are having a group meeting of the minds, take a guess where many of these minds are coming from? If you guessed the American Enterprise Institute you would be right. Let's see if there are any familiar names from PNAC, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, are both alumni then there are names like Lynne Cheney, Fred Kagan, John Bolton all level headed folks, for neocons. Bomb first, ask qustions later.
Guess what their first conference on International subjects is going to be? If you guessed Iran you would be right again, this article from the Seattle Times lays out their scenario for us.
Although the group declined to identify the experts, several were invited from the American Enterprise Institute, a Washington research group with close ties to the White House. Some institute scholars have advocated a more confrontational policy to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, including keeping military action as an option.
A Freedom's Watch newspaper ad last week called Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad "a terrorist." The group is considering a national ad campaign focused on Iran, a senior benefactor said, although Matt David, a spokesman for the group, declined to comment on those plans.
"If Hitler's warnings were heeded when he wrote 'Mein Kampf,' he could have been stopped," said Bradley Blakeman, 49, president of Freedom's Watch and a former deputy assistant to Bush. "Ahmadinejad is giving all the same kind of warning signs to us, and the region; he wants the destruction of the United States and the destruction of Israel."
Before the war with Iraq I doubt if many people had ever heard of PNAC, I know I never had and I am not isolated, but here we have the same people in some cases and other like minded "people" who openly advocate for war with Iran, doing it openly, which is their right here in America, but as well is our right to speak out against it.
We have to pay attention this time, and do what we can to stop this madness, we know they have a goal to push this before, Bush/Cheney leave office in 2009, they sure won't trust the next President of the US a Democrat to do it.
We are going to see a sales job, like not even the one that sold us Iraq.
