This is a open invitation to all those interested in saving our world,
and the US from another war-folly in Iran to think about what they can do
to avoid a coming tsunami.
Bushco, and the Israelis. are getting ready to go to
Tehran. They are looking for the right moment and a nonsense excuse.
The Israeli government is now encouraging the 25,000 Jews who live in Iran
to leave. Why now? Bush is rattling sabers--trying to stir us up. He's casting about for a casus belli.Remember how he did it before, and we
bought into his plan. I shall never forget Collin Powell holding up
a medicine bottle of talc at the UN, and talking about the weapons of mass
destruction. Shame on him.
Have we not learned anything? I heard talk from some admin person --something like, if you could only see what was in the computers---(stuff they said found in Iraq in Iranian machines. Then you'd know. Just like the talc in the medicine bottle that Powell had the chutzpah to show at the UN> What a pathetic end to this soldier.
I believe that all of us need to start pushing back against what we
all see as coming--some kind of attack on Iran. The drip treatment --
with a putative casus belli --has already started -- by the attack in Iraq against consular people. I'm not going to argue that some of those
infiltrating Iraq, are in fact not there for military operations. But we have "brought them on" and into Iraq by our own illegal attack on Iraq. And we do the very same thing, so let's get real. There are still some rules of engagement that need to be kept.
Moreover, let's go to the Israelis who under their corrupt, brain-limited
neo-con is twitching to go after Iran. If that happens, we should realize that we are actually paying for this. Remember, the cluster bombs in
Lebanon, well they are ours --given to them expressly for use in Lebanon.Do you think they used them without our approval. Of course not. Do you not think that with a (US) wink and a nod, they'll not attack Iran.
Look towards AIPAC--the premier (but not sole) group --not called a lobby
and registered as one as required by law -- but nevertheless a lobby
group. They are ,but should not and cannot continue to be a source of
our middle east policy. They wag our tail. I am Jewish, and so I cannot
be accused of being an anti-semite. I am proud of my people and the many
accomplishments and contributions to this world. That is the essence of what being a Jew is.
But I am not in agreement with Israel and many of their bellicose policies. I owe my allegiance to this country of my birth-- the USA. I owe my co-religionists holding fast to the ethical life expoused by Jews
and Jewish writings.
Remember the neo-cons who constructed, pushed and lied for this Iraq war:many are Jews: Doug Feith, Richard Perl, Scooter Libby, Paul Wolfowitz, Josh bolton. Why would they crave this war. It's Israel that was center of their thrust for Iraq. And Tehran is considered an Israeli
enemy. In their tortured thinking, all enemies are to be dealt with fire first --not thought and deep diplomacy.
Have you thought about what's propelling Joe Lieberman --it's Israel. No one talks about this, but the neo-con lobby and Israeli friends, are one of a matched pair of elephants in the room -- the other being oil. I left out the evangelicals -- but they figure in too because of their magical beliefs that Israel has to be in hands of Jews for everyone to become a Christian in "apocalyptic times."
Now, I suggest that we look towards Tehran and the 70 million, of which half are less than 25 years old . I remember vividly as a New Yorker the feeling of warmth that these young folks brought to all of us as they marched with their lighted candles throughout Iran to show human support of our plight.
Actually, there were tens of thousands, and I don't remember any other country acting in mass. Do we not owe this new generation the right to live their lives out without being bombed to death--or irradiated by the open-secret nukes, the Israelis want to use on them.
Transparency of motives and money spent is what we need to demand from our
leaders and our Congress. I am sure that our Congressmen , and big givers to Repubs are beseiging now make Iran the next war. After all, we are losing two.
For me, the socialist state of Israel -- a state of equality, and justice
that was at the heart of the founding of Israel is no more. What has
been left is a state much like ours -- with its loss of idealism, equality, and justice. It is for the resurgence of our founding fathers'
dream , that I mourn, and want to reestablish.
It is for the Israelis dream of justice that they need to be recapturing.
That will not include a bombing of Iran.
