Do you remember the
Flintstones?
If so, buried somewhere, deep in a part of your psyche you don't want to admit exists, you have an image of Betty and Wilma going credit-card happy. It starts with a trumpet playing "doot-doot-a-doot-ta-dooooo!" Then Wilma and Betty yell "Charge-it!" then dash off to wantonly spend money they don't have.
I bet you can see where I'm going with this by now...
[more on the flip side]
As a deeply animation-challenged person, I'm hoping an animation-skilled Kossack or two might want to take a swing at spoofing that, substituting characters from the administration for Wilma and Betty. OK, Photoshopped single-frame cartoons and anything in between count, too.
Why am I obsessed enough with this to write a diary about it for a boatload of random strangers to troll-rate?
Well, here's my problem (BTW, where's the "What's Your F-ing Problem" diary, anyway?). The left has been busy framing the deficit as a "birth tax."
It's catchy, but it works against the solution by promoting the "all taxes are bad" meme. In order to bring down the deficit SOMEONE has to start paying more, 'cuz other than defense, there's nothing left to cut without destroying the fabric of our society.
The reality is that via the deficit, the radical wingers are saddling each of our children with a $36K credit card bill before they ever earn a penny.
A credit card debt frame more accurately describes the problem, exposes the inherent irresponsibility of the Charge Card Radicals running the country, and supports the solution to the problem.
Someone's gotta pay the bill ... eventually.
So all ye who are up to the challenge, go forth and illustrate!
