Hal Turner: Domestic Terrorist threatens Congress(UPDATED)

Wed Jan 03, 2007 at 08:33:39 AM PDT

ENOUGH.
Freedom of speech and all that; yeah. But when you start directing people to assassinate Congressmen? Where do we draw the line?
What does this man have to do to get arrested?
Personally?
This kestrel has about HAD it with Hal Turner.
See, members of Congress aren't the only people Hal has put a contract out on.
Below the fold, friends.

UPDATE: Turner has moved his site here.
Go give love.

I've been keeping an eye on Hal for a while now.

Hal from North Bergen, New Jersey, and BFF of this guy:

See, ol' Hal used to be a frequent radio guest of Hannity's, way back in the wayback:

Turner is an independent media personality and occasional candidate in various state elections although he hasn't run since 2000. Before launching his own talk show, Turner was a regular caller (known simply as "Hal from North Bergen") to conservative Sean Hannity's and Bob Grant's talk shows on WABC radio in New York City.

Since that time, threats of violence have become Turner's stock in trade.
More from the wiki:

Turner has been criticized by the Southern Poverty Law Center for saying, "I advocate using extreme violence against illegal aliens. Clean your guns. Have plenty of ammunition. Find out where the largest gathering of illegal aliens will be near you. Go to the area well in advance, scope out several places to position yourself and then do what has to be done."

Two years earlier, on his worldwide shortwave show, Turner stated that a decision made by Lefkow against the World Church of the Creator made her "worthy of being killed". After the judge's family was murdered, Turner posted a photo on his website of Judge Lefkow with the Headline "GOTCHA!".

On Thanksgiving, Hal Turner posted to his website a similar "Gotcha" involving the beating of Daryle Jenkins of One People's Project, an antifa group, obliquely implying that the attack, carried out by a group of skinheads, was done at his behest.
Yes, ole Hal do so love issuing these contracts on people:

------------- Hal Turner Apologizes for allowing this to slip through:

When I approve comments, I only see a small portion of the comment in the moderation area. As you can see, the first two paragraphs seemed perfectly reasonable, which is how this obscenity got past me. I apologize to everyone for this getting through.

The posting was made through a Verizon account in Roanoke, VA.
The posting IP was (redacted) and was made at 3:49 PM Eastern Time on Nov. 18.

I do hereby authorize electronic attacks against that IP address.

I further request that everyone utilize all the resources possible, both legal and ILLEGAL, to determine the identity of the person responsible.

If I am given that information, I will personally conduct barbaric retaliation against this person.

Hal Turner

Maybe sometime I'll do a Paul Harvey and give you The Rest Of The Story.

At any rate, I paid a visit to Arianna's site a few minutes ago and found a link to this
piece on Winger Nut Daily.
Apparently, Hal has issued orders to.....well......

In a statement on his website, Hal Turner noted that a newspaper has reported that a bill granting amnesty to illegal aliens is expected to be enacted in January, when the Democratic Party takes control of the U.S. Senate and House.

"ANY MEMBER OF CONGRESS WHO INTRODUCES, CO-SPONSORS OR VOTES IN FAVOR OF ANY SUCH AMNESTY WILL BE DECLARED A DOMESTIC ENEMY AND WILL BE CONSIDERED A LEGITIMATE TARGET FOR ASSASSINATION," Turner posted on his website...."If you are too stupid to turn things around with your vote, there are people out here like me who are willing to turn things around with guns, force and violence. We hope our method does not become necessary," he wrote.

Check out this attempt at a disclaimer:

But he defined his position as commentary instead of advocacy when one supporter wrote to Turner's website, "Hey Hal instead of saying 'may' SAY you WILL KILL THEM!!!"

"No no no no no. Words mean things," Turner wrote at the time. The difference between 'may' and 'will' is the difference between an opinion and a threat," he concluded. "One is lawful, the other is not!"

Are we sure?

Are we REALLY, REALLY SURE?
Making terrorist threats is a CRIME.
If Senator Leahy wants to haul Laura Ingraham before the Senate and make her explain what she did on the air on Election Day......what are we gonna go with THIS guy?
Hal Turner's site is down at the moment.
I hope it stays that way.
And if that son of a bitch isn't in handcuffs.....
I want to know why.
Enough is enough.
