You may go below this to view a streaming video of a 9.11 briefing that took place on the one year anniversary of the 9.11 commission report.
I still submit that this is the issue that real Americans in both Parties need to discuss. However, as you notice, this attack is only mentioned when a politician wants to get political leverage (and not by the MSM at all), and I find that to be a slap in the face to those who were murdered that day.
This is not now just an issue we should relegate to "conspiracy theory" simply because some don't wish to discuss it. This is an issue that has led us into a war that will last for decades to come at great cost economically, physically, and spiritually to all of us and our children, and civil liberties abrogations that threaten the very core of what we stand for as Americans.
I say, not in their names, and we need more answers. I'm grateful that there are at least some in our Congress who believe that as well.
9.11 briefing report
This is the link to a streaming video that shows highlights of the 9.11 briefing held on the one year anniversary of the 9.11 commission report which was held in Washington DC. The meeting was chaired by Representative Cynthia McKinney, and the remarks here are from victims' family members and other experts.
And just to clear something up, these people are not "conspiracy theorists" because they dare to question the commission report, and the fact that no one in our government including Bush has had to take accountability for the 9.11 attack.
My personal view on this is that the entire administration is responsible for this attack on our country because they ignored credible threats to our national security. They stonewalled any attempt regarding an investigation, and the 9.11 commission only came to be through the diligence of victims' family members who to this day are still not satisfied with the answers this government has given them... and neither am I.
Therefore, please watch this streaming video and then ask yourselves this question once again:
Do you really live in a Democracy? And if so, why can't we ask questions about this attack and expect that our government will be truthful with us about it? Why can't we dispute the government account of this and ask our own questions without being labelled insignificant? Why can't we expect that as a Democracy there will be no secrets kept from us? Why can't we expect that we will be treated with respect for asking that our leaders be accountable?
For me the 9.11 report is a whitewash of immense proportions that does not even scratch the surface behind the deceptions, lies, and manipulations of an administration that would do anything to get what it wants, and I will never make any excuses or apologies for that opinion. And I state that not as a Democrat with a f*** partisan ax to grind, but as an American who truly puts their country first.
I applaud those who attended this briefing, and I submit that we not only need more of them, but we also need another investigation free of government oversight and influence to truly get to the truth behind why those people had to die on 9.11. I also want to see evidence presented that shows irrefutably that Osama Bin Laden was behind it, and I want justice. I don't want this illegal war for profit in Iraq to continue, because I want us to do what we should be doing: Seeking justice for this attack against our own citizens. The fact that isn't happening however, speaks volumes to me.
