Dear Speaker Pelosi,
Many of us are at a loss at what your becoming the first female Speaker of the House means. We've waited for over a decade to regain control of Congress and you rode that tide to the Speaker's office. But what will be your ultimate legacy? Capitulation.
Moderates I know have begun to express concerns about women in leadership positions because of your lack of strong leadership. They have begun to question if Hillary Clinton could be an effective president because of the poor example you have set.
You are third in line to the presidency. You are leader of the House of Representatives. You have a duty to provide leadership that the nation cries out for every day. But all we hear is capitulation. Empty statements about "holding people accountable" while taking no actions.
Frankly, I'm disappointed.
