Sunday Talk Ratings for Last Week's Shows
MTP was once again on top last week. Last week's guests here.
Still an embarrassment
Craig spoof ad targets farm bill I'm sure Mitch McConnell is thrilled that the ad is running in his state.
A group trying to combat childhood obesity has launched a TV ad spoofing Idaho Sen. Larry Craig's toe-tapping in an airport men's room.
The ad, created by the nonprofit Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, targets senators who support subsidies for high-fat foods such as bacon and burgers that make their way to school-lunch programs.
The ad features a man in a bathroom stall tapping his foot, signaling that he is ready to receive political contributions from the pork industry. Wads of cash are then passed under the stall.
The ad has been or will be aired in the following cities: Columbia, SC; Louisville, KY; Little Rock, AR; Denver, CO; Boise, ID; Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; Minneapolis, MN. Watch the ad to understand why I titled this week's edition "Oink, Oink!"

One-man show at ABC overseas bureaus
After two decades of cutbacks in international bureaus, ABC News is bucking the trend by creating one-person operations that will dramatically boost its coverage in Africa, India and elsewhere.
The small offices, staffed by a reporter-producer with the latest in hand-held digital technology, cost a fraction of what it takes to run a full-time bureau. But the work they file will be featured not only on ABCNews.com and ABC News Now but also occasionally on such ABC shows as "World News Tonight" and "Good Morning America."

Salt Lake City Papers Differ in Coverage of Editor's Conference Appearance
Did The Salt Lake Tribune make too much of the rival Deseret News' editor appearing at a conservative policy conference?
In several stories this weekend, the Tribune painted the conference of the Council for National Policy as some kind of right-wing secrecy fest featuring major names such as Vice President Dick Cheney and Gov. Mitt Romney. It then questioned Deseret News editor Joe Cannon's involvement and criticized his agreement not to disclose things that occurred at the convention.
In a story Saturday, the Tribune declared, "Though Cannon is a former lobbyist and brother of Congressman Chris Cannon, his attendance in his new role as a journalist at the meeting closed to news media sends up red flags, ethicists say. That Cannon promised council leaders he would not write about what was discussed should alarm his readers because he is shifting his loyalty from them to powerful government insiders, says Kelly McBride of the Poynter Institute, a nonpartisan journalism think tank."

Earlier today ... on Capitol Hill, firemen put out four small fires that were started in bathrooms at the Senate office building. Senator Larry Craig was seen running from the bathroom, screaming, 'I won't go quietly!'
