Or, if you prefer, Goon in Chief, Blackwater USA.
The New York Times is swooning in ecstasy again:
Erik D. Prince, the crew-cut, square-jawed founder of Blackwater USA, the security contractor now at the center of a political storm in both Washington and Baghdad, is a man seemingly born to play a leading role in the private sector side of the war efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

For some appalling reason, I did not find him so when I saw his videotaped testimony before Congress. He reminded me more of a huge, sprawling, supercilious, blond spider, built on the lines of a daddy longlegs, not square-jawed, but narrow and pointy-jawed. His hands were not the square hands of a workman but long, narrow and grasping, as though suddenly he would cackle and clasp his hands together in fiendish glee.
The Top Goon, Goon in Chief, has political connections:
Prince is reported to have contributed $168,000 to the Republican National Committee since 1998, and has also supported the candidacies of conservatives such as President George W. Bush and Senator Tom Coburn etc. Cofer Black, the company’s current vice chairman, was the Bush administration’s top counter terrorism official when 9/11 occurred. Blackwater has become home to a significant number of former senior CIA and Pentagon officials.

He has religious connections:
When he was a teenager, religious conservative leaders like Gary Bauer, now the president of American Values, were house guests. James C. Dobson, the founder of the evangelical organization Focus on the Family, gave the eulogy at his father’s funeral in 1995. "Dr. and Mrs. Dobson are friends with Erik Prince and his mother, Elsa Broekhuizen," Focus on the Family said in a statement. . . . Mr. Prince and his family have given hundreds of thousands of dollars to Republican candidates and other conservative and religious causes, records show. One favorite: the prison ministry of Charles Colson, the former Watergate felon turned Christian prison evangelist.
"They are conservative Christians, and they have very strong views on the sanctity of human life and the defense of marriage and the role of faith in the public square," Mr. Bauer said of the Prince family. "Those are issues I’ve been associated with, and so it was a natural relationship," he said of his ties to Mr. Prince’s parents.
From the NYTimes article above.
Frankly, I am not impressed. I wonder what kind of Jesus this man, this goon, has iconized in his life. Is it a macho Jesus ala Tim LaHaye and Jerry B.Jenkins, a militaristic, muscular, bare-chested Jesus who carries an assault weapon in each hand, cartridge rounds draped around him to form a giant X on his manly chest?
Of course, I haven’t read any of the LaHaye/Jenkins’ myths and their Jesus probably wields a gloriously fiery phallic sword to wipe out all the evil-doers of the world, Atheists, Secularists, Muslims, Jews exempt perhaps, being subject to Passover.
Or, perhaps now, having been persecuted by Congress, Top Goon Erik D. Prince can fancy himself the latest, crucified personification of Christ, in the manner of the Christ of Mel Gibson’s The Passion of Christ.
