In Karl Popper's famous book, The Open Society, in Chapter Ten, he points out that in the absence of social-relations-based culture, it is necessary for the society to instill personal morality in its members, and for the builders of the society to competently engineer the regulations for the society to minimize the cheater-cooperator ratio, so that renegades do not overpower the daily interpersonal functions of the
citizens.
In DailyKos, it is evident that the rules under which the normal citizens live are too weak to avoid the Janjaweed gangs that rove around and destroy those whose opinions are permitted by the skeletal rules, but which annoy the Janjaweed.
Historically, the engineers of the society, while setting up an effective way to build the Size of the society, have not sufficiently thought out the rules and enforcement of those rules for the Quality of the society, leading to the rule of the obnoxious name-callers.
When will there be a constitutional convention for DailyKos, in which the average citizens actually have a say in their own rule?
Or will this just continue as a sloppy dictatorship, masquerading as a free speech zone for enabling further spineless Democrat rule, and throttling, through vague and seemingly purposeless inaction, discussion beyond the realm of Rahm Emanuel realpolitik?
Of course, the normal reaction will be to pretend this diary is too vague, or pretend it is incomprehensible, but the defensive reactions do not hide their inclusion in the general rejections here of criticism and correction.
The critics KNOW what I'm talking about, but it would be painful to their intellectual pseudo-cohesion to admit they're just here for the wrecks, just like the NASCAR fans.
As the toprated diary is trying to say: if you can't say something intelligent, for whatever reason, STFU. So far, only two people understand this. Now four...and the reason I don't post anymore is that the trollweeds disappear them, fearing perhaps that they might make them look foolish. One way free speech.
Find one politically incorrect thing to rant about, and raise a lot of dust to hide the truth. Same old bullshit, eh?
Proves the point of the diary.
