AP has an item with short quotations from several newspaper endorsements, both for Kerry and for Bush. As a sampling of what is being said in endorsements (hard to say how representative) it is fairly interesting. The story is at:

What strikes me is that the endorsements of Kerry are often enthusiastic and sometimes lukewarm, while the endorsements of Bush seem to tend heavily toward the lukewarm. Again, no way of telling from internal evidence how representative AP's sample is.
