When I first joined this site, I asked myself why I wanted to bother to follow politics.
But after nearly 8 years of Shrub in office, I'm no longer interested in arguing about politics with conservatives on other sites that aren't focused solely on politics.
Listening to Conservatives for years nearly fried my brain. Coming to DKos for me was a way of going back to my roots and re-discovering why I was drawn to liberalism in the first place. Read more below.
When I first joined this site, I asked myself why I wanted to bother to follow politics.
After a while, I published my first diary, which I look back at and find to be pretty tame compared to the 9/11diary I wrote.
As I discovered from that diary, I was highly insensitive and fueled by nothing but rage. I look back sometimes and wish I hadn't written that diary. However, you can't undo a lot of things about the past.
What I do hope to learn from this experience is to try and take it easy when expressing thoughts and opinions. I'm really glad my friend
introduced me to this place. Thanks to DKos, I have found new issues to be angry over (SCHIP, Blackwater, etc) and it's fueled my thoughts on many issues.
I'm also pleasantly surprised to see that I don't have as many troll ratings as I thought I'd gotten. It makes me feel better about being a member of this community. I want to be a better member though and would appreciate any form of discussion about how to express my thoughts better.
To anyone I've offended, please accept my humble and sincere apologies.
Now, I've enclosed a poll that asks what drew you to DKos?
