Here are some sample signatures:

100 Eric W. TX We need you now more than ever, sir!

219 Eva K. WV Noone is as experienced, principled, and internationally respected. The country needs President Gore.

233 Chris W. PA If Gore doesn't run, we're screwed.

356 Richard F. MD I voted for you the last time you won.

Of course my favorite signature is this one, but I'm probably a little biased:

152365 Dale Read OH You the man!

Enjoy!

55 june r. FL Dear Mr.Gore I'm just an old lady of 62, who's been so beat up by life and our government that I'm ready to throw the gloves in. I'm determined to keep on fighting, but I'm just a contender, you're a champion. I need you by my side, so does America. Don't let us down. Say you'll fight with us. Together we can win.

63 Judith B. AZ The "InconvenientTruth" is that this nation and this world need you to save them.

154 Myron H. WI Al Gore is the only prominent American that has the experience and the wisdom to return this nation to respectability. He is not tainted with the stench of corruption or the lack of good judgement or leadership that plauges most politicians.

237 Arthur B. NY I have been a life-long Republican. I have told the Democratic Party, both at the local and state level, that I would become a democrat only if Al Gore would campaign for the Party's nomination and I could support him in a primary campaign in New York State. He earned the Presidency once. We need him now more than then. Arthur Brina Fairport, NY agbrina53@hotmail.com

280 David A. CA No pressure though my man, if you think you can actually be more effective as a civilian, go for it, but it's a lovely dream to have you in the big chair. Thanks for everything you do!

By the way, the idea for this came from this comment from katiebird.  I was very dissatisfied with the answer I gave her, telling her to "start at the first page (or last page) and click on "next" (or "prev") and go through the petition page by page..."  I could at least have given her a way to start closer to the middle.  I know how to write an index page.

I was planning to put all the links to the Gore petition in the body of my diary but as it turns out I ran out of room after about 730 links.  I need well over 4200.  I guess I will handle it this way: I will put the first 500 links in the body of the diary and the rest in the comments. That will take a bit longer but it should work.

I hope that those of you who saw the earlier version of this (no spaces between page numbers) will agree that this looks better and is easier to use. In that diary, ppluto makes this comment.

What I really wanted
was a way to search to see if I'd already signed (I know a signed a draft Gore petition several months ago, but don't know which one).  I just tried it using Google's site search, putting in www.ipetitions.com as the domain, and searching on the terms Gore and my last name. I came up w/ a couple of matches, but neither of them were me, so now I get to go sign it!  Yay!

This is intended more as a tool for browsing through existing signatures. There are some awesome comments there, please share.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
