As by now we’re all aware, not only did the Senate Judiciary Committee pass a bill granting retroactive immunity to telecommunications companies, but Senate Majority leader Harry Reid may ignore Senator Chris Dodd’s hold on the bill, bringing it to a floor vote anyway. The only thing I can conclude from this is that there is one person—and one person alone—to blame for this mess: Hillary Clinton. I’ll explain below the fold.
I believe we can all unanimously agree on the following items.
- This bill is not only bad, but is only being supported by beltway insiders.
- Second-term senator Hillary Clinton is the Washington Insiders candidate while, for some reason, first-term Senator Obama and ex-Senator Edwards are not.
- Rep. Pelosi and Sen. Reid are Washington Insiders and therefore, automatically supporting the Washington Insider candidate.
- Presidential candidates Edwards and Obama are a threat to the Establishment.
- Based on primary polls, Senator Dodd’s chances of receiving the nomination are close to nothing.
- Senator Dodd’s support among anti-Washington Establishment voters will increase as a result of this move, even though Senator Dodd is a life-long Washington Insider, himself, hence, would obviously prefer that Clinton receives the nomination over Edwards or Obama.
Based upon the above facts, there is only one thing to conclude; Hillary Clinton is responsible for this mess. Obviously, Hillary knows that Reid, Pelosi and Dodd are scared of losing their power if an Outsider candidate is elected. Further, Hillary is aware that this move will be more likely draw primary support from Edwards and Obama over to Dodd than from Clinton to Dodd since the ultimate-triangulator-that-is-Hillary-Clinton knows her supporters aren’t as easily swayed by "political games."
Who benefits from all this? Hillary Clinton. Who loses? John Edwards and Barack Obama. Therefore, Hillary is responsible. It should be obvious to everyone that Hillary engaged in some private deals with Pelosi, Reid, Dodd and possibly others.
Conclusion: Down with Hillary. Support my candidate.
