Amazing. Simply amazing. Then again, I must be the one with the problem, because I'm the one who's amazed.
Once again the Democrats stand with Rush Limbaugh, against the Democrats who speak the truth. It's not just the cowardice that gets me, it's the ignorance. It's not just that the Democrats don't want to win, it's that they are utterly clueless, as an institution, of how arguments work. I'm sick of placing my hopes on morons, so fuck it.
A majority of Americans didn't trust Petraeus, so the GOP changed the subject to an ad in the NYT. And the Democrats helped. A majority of Americans support us on SCHIP, so the GOP changed the subject to Stark's comments. And the Democrats helped.
To support Stark's comments, we have Bush's own words. On blowing up Iraq, he said "feels good!" while pumping his fist. On SCHIP, Bush said his veto kept him relevant. You know, when someone does something like what Bush did on his veto (you know, going off in private to hurt children), you usually wind up on a register or something. I should be able to look up these kinds of predators on the internet and see if someone like Bush lives in my neighborhood and keep him away from my children. But, for the Democrats, it was a golden opportunity to prove that the Republicans are right about them. Nice going. This way to the ash bin of history, O Most Useless People.
Each of these incidents, and I'm sure you can think of many other examples from the past few years (Durbin comes to mind), was a golden opportunity to point out that the Republicans were running away from a debate they couldn't handle, but the Democrats rushed in front of the nearest TV camera they could find to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Hello? Do you need me to explain this to you, or are you too scared to win?
As long as the Democrats are afraid to disagree with Rush Limbaugh, Democratic majorities will be meaningless. That means that you, my fellow Democrat, are meaningless. The people you gave your money, time, effort, support, and above all votes to wrapped them all up in a bag and threw them away.
But wait, it gets worse.
I also called Congressman Conyer's office. The person there agreed with all that I said in support of Stark but pointed out that the Dems have a winning issue with the SCHIP debacle and Pete Stark's words have been latched onto by Republicans something as a distraction from their politically indefensible position on SCHIP.
Jesus wept. That's not just weak, that's stupid.
If the GOP is changing the subject, you should have the intelligence to call them on it. But you don't, so you didn't. Pelosi said that Stark's comments were inappropriate and a distraction from the issue. Uh, no. The GOP is using the comments to distract, and you're helping them, you fucking moron. The Democrats aren't just standing with Rush Limbaugh, they're amplifying his frame. They don't have the sense God gave a doorknob!
There are plenty of people out there, myself not chief among them, who could do a better job, which would help the Democrats cut through the bought-and-paid-for propaganda of the parasite class so we could all be represented by the government we pay for a choose to obey.
But the Democrats aren't just weak, they're stupid. So fuck it and fuck them.
None of these people are worth it any more.
