Unfortunately our imbecile for a President George W. Bush has pledged $1.4 Billion of our hard earned tax dollars towards the failed Mexican Drug War I guess we might as well finance two nations failed drug wars instead of just our own disaster that way we get double the corruption on both sides of the border.
The ridiculous stooge Mr. Bush now plans to send Mexico $1.4 Billion to fight their long failed Drug War yet these idiotic drug warriors can't even keep drugs out of Maximum Security Prisons. In August 1997, Charles Manson was sentenced to serve seven months at California's "super-max" Pelican Bay State Prison, after he (Charles Manson) was convicted of selling drugs to other inmates at another Maximum Security Prison. Seven months later he was put in the hole, where he served two months, and was again charged with "illegal drug business dealings."
I see this as clearly a waste of our precious money. This is a huge mistake any way you want to look at it no matter how you feel about the failed War on Drugs. Mexican President Felipe Calderon has taken on an impossible task there is just far too much official corruption in both Mexico and also in the USA due to the profitable narcotics trade on both sides of the borders. I have a few examples of why sending this $1.4 Billion to Mexico is pure insanity unless the plan is to rip us off by dividing our tax money up between Calderon and Bush.

MEXICO TO JOIN US IN FIGHT ON DRUGS
Treaty Is Expected to Cut Down Smuggling Across Border and Break Up Gangs of Dealers.
MEXICAN PRESIDENT CALLES ORDERS A CRUSADE
Investigation Made Shown Highly Placed Persons Involved In Traffic Poppies Grown In Mexico.
MEXICO CITY, May 4.-The drug Treaty which will be formulated in El Paso by the Commissioners of the United States and representatives of the Mexican Government Is expected to achieve 2 results-elimination of the constant stream of drugs which Is pouring into the United States through Mexico and help to clean out from the border towns several groups of American and foreigners who 'have made large sums of Money through the drug traffic.
Charles Beecher Warren Ambassador of the United States to Mexico, learning of the tremendous amount of drugs that were being shipped from Europe and Asia to Mexico. For transhipment to the United States suggested to Washington that an agreement be reached with the Mexican Government in the form of a treaty which would permit the cooperation of the police officials of both countries to suppress this traffic and to purdah the drug dealers. Mr. Warren's departure for the United States caused those plans to fall through until the arrival of Ambassador James Rockwell Sheffield. One of the first official acts of the new Ambassador was to propose to the Mexican Government the advisibllity of a drug and immigration treaty which would lessen crime along the border and remove a sore spot which has caused friction between the two countries.
President Nixon gave Mexico millions of U.S. Drug-war dollars by sending them $6 million a year from 1969 to 1973 and then $8 million in 1974 yet we all know that did nothing to stem the tide of drugs coming into our country.
On October 3 ,2000 Mexico's "Drug Czar" Jesús Gutiérrez Rebollo, the former head of Mexico's National Institute to Combat Drugs, was sentenced to 71 years in prison on drug and weapons charges.
On February 6, 2001 forty-three out of forty-seven Mexican customs supervisors were fired due to narcotics corruption.
On April 15 2003 Mexican authorities arrested 42 police officers for selling drugs to school children.
On April 29, 2006 the Mexican senate passed a bill legalizing the possession of small amounts of marijuana, opium, cocaine, and heroin. We should follow suit and not waste another dime on this illegal bullshit.
These are just a handful out of several hundred examples of why this is a waste of our money sending Mexico money to fight the failed drug war no matter how good the intentions are or if they plan on pocketing our tax money and sending President Bush his cut. Sadly corruption is at epic proportions in the US yet people in our country are blindly allowing these fucking drug warriors to rip us off. Due to the failed war on drugs we have institutionalized narcotics corruption in our government and it's probably far worse in Mexico.
