It's becoming clear what the Shrubbies are going to do. They really want to blame the situation in New Orleans on the mayor, and the governor there, who will need help defending themselves (assuming they have some defenses, because I don't know all the facts, I'm just talking about the strategy).
The more pressure and blame heaped on Bush, the more they will deflect in the direction of any black person and/or Democrat they can locate.
Nothing will change the images of W with his birthday cake and his gee-tar, or Condi and her shoes, or the delay getting relief in there.
But no doubt they will take aim at the unsuccessful evacuation and pre-hurricane planning. Drudge has already shown photos of parking lots full of busses under water. FAUX last night was bemoaning the evacuation of tourists ahead of others at the Superdome, blaming the mayor for that (I don't have all the facts of that situation either).
Can anyone here help me to understand why we should NOT be giving the mayor and governor their share of blame, so I can respond adequately to those inevitably forthcoming accustions?
What I'm looking for, I guess, is not so much an attack on W's response, because I'm clear on that. What I'm interested to see is a defense of the Dems here. I appreciate your help.
