The internuts is getting pretty dreary and old. Orwell once said that saints must be judged guilty until proven innocent. But Obama has made no claims to sainthood, only the presidency. Further, it's a sad day when the American people have so far departed from our Constitution to be thinking that sainthood is a requirement or a result of taking the President's job.
In Lynn Sweet's blog, http://blogs.suntimes.com/...
'Wallace' writes:
'Obama is a highly ambitious hustler who will say whatever he has to say and ally himself with whoever to reach his personal goals. Eventually most of the Illinois voters will see him for what he is and his rock star will soon to fade.'
Yawn....
"Find" 'Obama,' "Replace" 'Hillary Clinton.' "Find" 'Illinois,' "replace" 'New York.'
Otherwise, my sentiments exactly.
Given the old IVI-IPO endorsements from Obama, as well as his home seat, I'm a little skeptical that he's actually as much of a machine politician as Wallace argues. Further, I'd much rather have a 'pawn' of Mayor Daley in office than a pawn of the military-industrial complex:
http://news.independent.co.uk/...
"The US arms industry is backing Hillary Clinton for President and has all but abandoned its traditional allies in the Republican party. Mrs Clinton has also emerged as Wall Street's favourite. Investment bankers have opened their wallets in unprecedented numbers for the New York senator over the past three months and, in the process, dumped their earlier favourite, Barack Obama."
I have to say, I fear the defense industry's influence far more than the 'moral lapse' indicated by Obama's long-overdue (and recently repaid) parking tickets, the very slim possibility that he is the 'Indonesian Candidate' secretly groomed in a madrassa to Islamicize the United States, or the fact that he 'inhaled' as a kid.
