As I type, a discussion is unfolding as to what blog posts anywhere in the blogosphere are the worst, the lamest, the most pompously perfectly craptastic as well as the finest, the most well-thought and well-spoken posts blogosphere wide. You know, the Great Classics and the (ahem) Great Classic Train-Wrecks.
So let the discussion unfold: Best and Worst of the Blogosphere - who won the blue ribbon and who put the turd in the punchbowl?
Some suggested guidelines. These are suggestions, you won't let some damn diarist tell you what to do and I don't blame you a bit. But let me suggest what might make this be a better read.
- If doable, try to keep discussions of "best" and discussions of "worst" separate or in separate threads, unless that just doesn't work.
- There's no fundamental reason why some blog post cannot be both best and worst at the same time, depending on its nature. Some movies are so bad they are perfect.
- Not everyone is an old-timer here so try to refer to the blogger by either their legal name or their own recognized nom de blog, at least once. I have no problem calling John Hinderaker "Assrocket" but not everyone knows him by that name. Ditto Atlas Juggs, etc.
- I would suggest listing your best five and worst five, replete with links if you can. If you don't have both best and worst, or you have fewer than five, smoke what you got.
My Nominees for Best Blog Posts
- GroupNewsBlog's LowerManhattanite's Do You Understand Where You Are?
- Just about anything Steve Gilliard (R.I.P and DailyKos alumnus) ever wrote.
- Anything from the depraved mind of Kossack Dood Abides.
I will be leave it to others to take a hard shot at the "worst" though for me any randomly chosen post from Michelle Malkin or Pam Atlas has a fighting chance.
Anyway, have some fun with this one.
