Just a quick note to thank everyone for all the tremendous support in my brief campaign for Stephentown Town Supervisor.
It's been a long day and I am starting to go cross-eyed battling a head cold at the same time.
Election results can be found here.
My brief summary after the fall...
Well... we lost. Across the board.
Turn-out was high. We didn’t quite hit our numbers and they turned out their vote.
Supervisor:
White (D) – 417
Sherman (R) – 575
Council:
Eckhardt (R) – 630
Prescott (R) – 596
Jennings (D) – 413
McEwan (D) – 374
Highway Superintendent:
Gardner (R) – 588
Sykes (D) – 467
And in our portion of a very important race for County D.A.:
Cholakis (R) – 503
McNally (D) – 455
Bummer. I had target about 473 votes to win. We didn’t make our numbers and they exceeded theirs significantly. I guess the attack pieces worked at turning out their vote. Bummer. I'm hearing that Democrats suffered across upstate New York and perhaps even downstate due to the illegal immigrants drivers license issue. I'd like to be able to believe that was it but I'll have to wait until I can analyze the turn-out details to know for sure.
Off to bed. Gotta work tomorrow.
Thanks again to everyone in Stephentown for their support and to all my on-line friends that were pulling for and supporting us. Your support and friendship means the world to me.
Peace,
Andrew
