It really amazes me how a muffler backfires near the Capitol & the media goes into a frenzy.
This is how I picture the conversation going:

Commuter: Hey, that muffler backfire sounded like a gunshot.
Bored Faux Newsman 1: What? Shots? Did somebody say shots & gun?
Bored CNN Newsman 2: Hey! Aren't we near the Capitol?
Bored Faux Newsman 1: Holy shit! The terrorists are storming the Capitol!
Bored CNN Newsman 3: Run for your lives! They've got AK-47s!!
Karl Rove: Change the threat to Red! We're gonna lose the elections!!
Yes, I know, I know. Things are still unclear & we're not sure what's happened but it appears no one was hurt.
But do you know where they are getting hurt & where guns & bombs are going off?
IRAQ. Where 9 more people died and 30 were wounded in this one suicide atttack.

But you wouldn't know that unless you clicked TWICE to get to the story b/c because that's where it's buried.Look at the two photos. Which one do you think should be on the front page of MSNBC? Guess which one is. & What's with "Iraq difficulties"?!
That photo is a little more than "difficult"! That's street soaked with blood.
