According to both a comment by another on Zephyr Teachout's own blog, Zephyr Teachout "just began a term as a fellow at Harvard's Berkman Center for the Internet and Technology, where she will participate in a conference next week on the subject of Blogging, Journalism & Credibility." The participants page for the
"Blogging, Journalism & Credibility" symposium page bears this out, pegging her as a member of the Berkman Center.
Given what has happened in the past 48 hours, what makes her someone worthy of a Harvard fellowship - one of the nation's best schools, arguably the best - and able to speak on the area of journalism and credibility?
While I believe she brought up an important issue, the framing and issue she placed it in was poor. Piss poor. And her possibly bringing the issue to the Wall Street Journal (I don't believe her when she says one of the two reporters found it instantly), this strikes me as odd. Not to mention her manner since the article came out, in which she has had dodged the issue entirely.
So, let's make sure that those who are the head of the program she has been accepted into know about this. This is certainly not fellowship-worthy of any school, much less Harvard.
