The odds are against you. No Daily Kos straw poll has shown a majority of voting Kossacks behind a single candidate. No campaign or media poll has shown support for any of the presidential candidates above 50%, either nationally or in any of the early states.
Do those of you among the blogosphere's presidential primary partisan pugilists, do you consider this when you're assailing the other candidate and their supporters? In a now-deleted diary earlier this evening, one commenter was referring to supporters of one of the Democratic candidate with a pejorative I thought stupid and counterproductive. Mind you, I didn't dislike it because I thought that candidate's partisans were devoid of or represented by proportionally fewer obnoxious jerks than the other "tribes" that are rallied about the major Democratic candidate. No, I disliked the term because it helped accentuate the current divides between Kossacks aligned in various candidate-based factions.
What are you doing to support your candidate, but to do so in a manner that will make it either easier for supporters of the losing candidates to rally behind your candidate as the nominee, but also to make it easier for you to enthusiastically rally behind a candidate you didn't support because it's more important to win the presidency than to nurse primary grievances and sit out the general election if the primary doesn't turn out as you hope.
In short, what are you doing now to help us be unified for the general election? What needs to be done?
And for those of you who are currently undecided, what do you want the primary candidate partisans on DKos? Is there anything they can do to help you chose their candidate? Is there anything they're currently doing that makes it harder for you to back their candidate?
