The scenario of a "brokered convention" keeps coming up, so, let's talk about that.
Assume that Kerry is strongly in the lead in the delegate count, let's say Dean trails him by 400. But Dean refuses to give up the fight.
What can/should Dean demand in a brokered convention in order to release his delegates?
Dean as VP?
Dean's handpicked VP choice?
Dean in the cabinet?
A pledge to endorse several of Dean's ideas?
Something else?
In a recent blog post, I mentioned the fact that I will
not vote for Kerry in the General Election, but rather write-in Howard Dean.
You can read my rationale here:

Here are some additional thoughts on that subject
-------------------------------------------------
Keep in mind, I don't want Dean to run as a third party candidate----it would damage the party. But I'm still voting for him.
Imagine this: Kerry does very well in the election (winning or losing narrowly), but loses the popular vote because 3-5% of every heavily Republican or heavily Democrat state are Deaniacs. I'm talking about California, Texas, Mississippi, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, etc.
I'd love to see the look on Dean's face if he heard the news that 200,000 Americans wrote his name in, and perhaps it would convince the party hierarchy that Dean is a major player?
I'd prefer to see Dean challenge Jim Jeffords for the Vermont Senate seat....grab some foreign policy experience.....maybe work with the United Nations a little.
And then come roaring back in 2008.
