Here's an interesting online survey... Inc. and Zoomerang did a study of 1000 small-business owners on political issues and found that their top choices in the presidential race are Hillary (22%), Rudy (17%), Undecided (12%) then Barack and Fred (tied: 11%). Naturally, health care is the big difference in the rise of the Dems.
In another surprising turnaround, the report shows that this traditionally anti-tax and anti-regulatory constituency today chooses health care as the number one issue impacting their vote. A majority, 57 percent, say that a regulated health care system would be good for growing businesses.
More info is in the press release from Inc. and Zoomerang. Personally, more than the horserace, the fact the fact that business leaders are recognizing that government-run health care isn't any worse than corporate bureaucracy seems encouraging.
Disclosure: I am pretty much neutral in the primary and this story was sent to an email list I am on by a PR flack. I thought it was interesting enough to post anyway, though.
