SO at this point no real democrate contenders have come forward to challenge Lamar Alexander, and with less than a year left I believe we are left with three options.
The first and easiest is to put no one up and not waste any money supporting a candidate that can't win. (I am reffering to money that would be raised from democrate citizens as well as party money.)
The second and almost as easy would be to try to get Harold Ford to run for Senate again. Personally I don't like this option as he is not likely to go for it and less likely to win. Also, I just don't think he's a great Democrate but that's neither here nor there.
And finally, we could take a long shot and sart a Draft Bredesen Movement. He says he's not interested but that's what Udall said. Also, we may be able to pressure him to do it for the good of the party and to help his second in command get ellected to Govenor by running as an incumbent. Bredesen is very popular in Tennessee and I'm sure could run a formidable campaign in the time left. The only issue is getting the support together to get him to do it.
I say we go for option 1 or 3, preferable doing 3 and if it doesn't work falling back on option 1.
