Last Monday, I posted a diary asking for suggestions on the FAQ. One very nice idea, from kath25, was to taken the list of recurring diary series and create a weekly calendar in tabular format, so people can easily find what's going on at any given time.
This is now available.
Here's what it looks like:
(Note: Clicking will take you to the FAQ page. This is a screenshot rather than the actual table, because tables and the current version of the dkos diary/comment engine are not good friends. The actual table does have live links to all the relevant tags).
A few random thoughts that occurred to me after looking at the finished version:
Contrary to cherished wingnut belief, most of us work and can't commit to a regular posting schedule during the day on weekdays.
Anyone contemplating a new weeknight series would do well to avoid Tuesday or Friday evenings, and consider Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday instead.
For some strange reason, there's not much going on during the weekend afternoons. Weekend mornings, yes, but everyone seems to take a siesta starting at noonish. Except openthread, of course. Openthread never rests.
The busiest timeblocks for series writing are Saturday morning and Sunday evening.
Friday series writers are the most fond of incorporating the day of week into their titles.
Anyway, a new tool for your enjoyment, and please let me know about any mistakes.
