In a particularly interesting poll released by CNN, John Edwards, while running in third place in the Democratic primary, was the candidate who had the widest margins against any of the Republicans in the general election.
Some of the interesting numbers are that Huckabee, the current darling of the evangelicals, is predicted to lost to Hillary Clinton by 10 points, to Barack Obama by 15 points, and to John Edwards by 25 points.
Giuliani, still the front runner in many Repug eyes, loses to Hillary by six points, but to Edwards by 9.
Edwards was the only Democratic candidate who was likely to beat the top four Republican candidates with McCain faring the best among the Republicans, beating Hillary by 2, tying Obama, and losing to Edwards by 8.
If realistic electability is an issue, key word being realistic, then this should give everyone who wants a regime change something to think about.
