Something's come up regarding a certain Hollywood madam who has professed a liking of Hillary Clinton. I was wondering if the Senator is going to step up and disavow these remarks which seem to promote the opinion that women want to be prostitutes:
"Women are more independent these days; they make more money and it's hard to meet people. You wouldn't believe the number of women who've told me, 'Heidi, if you do this, I'll be the first one in line!' I mean, relationships are harder than dieting, you know what I mean?"
Not only this, but Ms. Fleiss's comments also suggest that prostitution is a stepping stone to women choosing a career:
"I think it's unfair that men put laws on a woman's body, ... I think a woman has a right to choose with her own body. I mean, I don't think prostitution is a career ... but maybe [it is] a little steppingstone?"
Obviously, the above is ludicrous. I mean, it's a really big stretch to even pretend that it's based in reality. Selective quotes, shoddy readings, and outright bullshit spin to make a particular candidate look bad.
Yet this is what passes for a diary these days.
Let's review:
Bill Shaheen, co-chair of Clinton's campaign in New Hampshire. Possesses a fairly obvious and real link to her campaign, is officially involved in the operations of her campaign in his capacity as co-chair.
John Millin, a Democratic party state chair in Wyoming (a state that hasn't voted for a Democratic president since 1964, by the way), who supports Obama but evidently has no position in his campaign.
The DNC and the Democratic party of Wyoming, incidentally, have said that Millin's comments are his own and are not to be construed as the official statements of any party or group.
Now, can anyone tell me the difference between these two people?
If you said, "One of them is was officially a part of a presidential campaign and one of them isn't", then congratulations! You win 6 Prize Tickets, redeemable for a novelty-sized thumb or 5 multi-colored thumbtacks!
The diary I referenced above is nothing more than Shaheen Vengeance, a sad attempt at tit-for-tat, but it fails any sort of cursory glance at the facts.
It's sad and it's a rather pathetic attempt at a hit piece.
Mountains, molehills, and people making one out of the other.
Please go back and try harder next time, or better yet, stick with positive diaries about your candidate. They were much better and more accurate than the other one.
DISCLOSURE: I do not support anyone for President. Nobody. Not any one person on this earth has my support except for one person: the Democrat who wins the Democratic Presidential Primary.
