We blame drug users for getting addicted -- and then abandon them.
Simple approach. It holds sway over far too many governments.
Odd thing, society ends up powerless against drug-related threats.
Criminal subcultures are generated, which support antisocials.
Crime multiplies.
Which bring us to Amy Winehouse.
Press photos ID'd the notorious Johnny Headlock.
Admitted killing Mark Blanco in 2006 by throwing the Oxford graduate off a 30-foot balcony.
"Headlock" is infamous for publicizing the rape drug Boost. Still running free.
But Wino's a junkie. No protection.
Drug poisoned: incoherent, delusional. Consistent with Boost.
Could have died.
Could happen to anybody's kid.
Details below and they suck....
The more we learn, the worse it gets.
They knew about this monster "Headlock."
Said nothing. Left her in his clutches.
And let him walk around, verily protected from prosecution, for a year.
Only the work of the Blanco family finally got it turned around.
"Wino," "Junkie." Hubby in jail for assault, bribery.
Despite a #1 U.K. album, her family was turned away and lied to.
Metropolitan Police did next to nothing.
Amy could have been in hospital, dying, like Mark, any time over the last two years.
Jonathan "Johnny Headlock" Jeannevol, if the public identity is accurate, was bragging all through 2007 that he had induced a hyper-sex session with Amy.
His description of a session matches Boost, reportedly spot-on.
Boost is cocaine, ecstasy and rohypnol. Rape drug on steroids.
Headlock got to the big time for music with his control of drug-loving rocker Pete Doherty.
The usual descriptions run to bodyguard, minder, drug source, or consiglieri.
Winehouse had the #1 album for the U.K. in 2007.
Despite her fame and repeated requests for assistance from her parents, nothing was done.
Amy is under Order to appear this coming week for questioning.
Metropolitan Police Service interest in Amy relates to her husband's effort to bribe his way out of an assault ("GBH") charge.
So now they focus on her.
Hopefully, this Order is a continuation of the recently activated investigation into the Blanco death.
Hubby Blake is in slam and five of his friends are charged with the bribery scheme.
Its not much of a stretch to think that they are trying to escape by blaming Amy.
Still, info on the Headlock thug makes more sense.
Killer counts for something.
Both the U.K. and America stress criminalization.
The U.K. is much better, overall.
America has the strange D.A.R.E. system getting heavy financing.
D.A.R.E. backs conservative ideology, effectively blocking medical approaches.
Then, when things get tough, really criminal, nothing happens....
The bizarre result -- truly bizarre -- is that police are not able to work with addicts and their families.
There is no middle way.
This is a broken system. Couldn't be designed to be much worse.
Proof: America has half of its inmates from drugs.
U.K. anti-drug programs have next to no credibility.
There's got to be a new way.....
